| The ride is
being organised by
Meg Green of the Flint
and Denbigh Hunt branch of the Pony Club. The inaugural meeting for the F’n’D musical ride 2008 took place on the 14th November 2007 at The Farmers Arms, Waen. This was very well attended, and since then some 45 riders have confirmed their intention to participate, with a further 5 riders indicating provisional interest. The inaugural training session for the musical
Ride took place on Sunday 13th January 2008 at Celyn
Sunday 1st June,2008 was a first sort out of partners and following that a list of the moves were given out to riders. Royal Welsh Show Report (from Meg Green) Am sure you will all agree it was quite an experience for all concerned. By popular demand we have been requested to display at the Denbigh and Flintshire show on August 21st and then the Denbigh Flower show on the 23rd. Practice for these is on Sunday 17th @ 3.00 pm (where?). We have a video recording on DVD taken from the grandstand on Monday. If anybody has a recording from the Grandstand of Wednesday's performance please let Meg know asap. The final schedule of sessions, including the remaining performances, is published at the end of the page (click here to view). The previous training schedule has been carried out as follows: |

The first combined session at Gwaenynog went well considering there was a lot of things and people to arrange and the ponies could not let off steam beforehand due to the wet ground. As a result of this there were a few who were "taken away with" by their ponies but only one rider parted company from their mount. It could have been much worse. The organisers wish to say a big "Thank You" to Major Smith for allowing The Ride to use his land, in wet conditions. The combined sessions will be on Sunday evenings, for 1 1/2 hours at various venues, each will be confirmed before the session by Email or on the Web site.
Please be aware that during practices some riders may still be asked to sit out for a period of time. These will not be the same riders each time and is no reflection on the riders themselves. Those 'sitting out' will be rotated during practices. This will continue to be done for organisational reasons. |
