Wrexham Currently has four coaches at club night, Mike Norfolk (Head Coach) Valerijs Shchipanovs (Professional Coach) David Gregory (Professional Coach)and Steve Teggin, along with several experienced fencers currently undergoing their coaching training.

Mike Norfolk MBE – Head Coach
Mike is Head Coach and one of the Founding members Wrexham Fencing Club. Able to coach in all three weapons, Mike is responsible for the general running of the coaching of the Fencing Club. Mike does a lot of work with the Junior Club while also helping to prepare the more élite fencers for competition Fencing. In 2010 Mike was awarded an MBE for his services to Heart Patient Recovery and Fencing. Mike is the Lifetime President of the club, awarded in 2007, in recognition for his many years of service.

Valerijs Shchipanovs - Professional Coach
Valerijs, a Russian Born, Latvian, is the professional coach of Wrexham’s Coaching staff. Coaching in all three weapons Valerijs regularly takes individual lessons with Junior and Senior Fencers. He is responsible for taking Senior Club warm-ups and setting all class lessons for Senior and Junior Clubs. Regarded as a fantastic addition to the Fencing Clubs staff, Valerijs has made himself a favourite with many of Wrexham's Élite fencers for his expertise and wealth of experience of continental fencing styles. Valerijs’ Son, Christopher is also a valued member of the club. |

Steve Teggin - Coach
Steve coaches at both Foil and Epée, and actively coaches in both the Junior and Senior clubs. Steve’s role in the club sees him working regularly with Senior Club beginners and also in the development of Junior Club Fencers to competition standards.
Steve is also the clubs Treasurer. |
Senior Fencers Mark Robertson and Christopher Shchipanovs are currently undergoing their coaching training and are actively helping in the clubs coaching programs, under supervision.
